The Royal Logistic Corps Institution (RLCi) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK (CILT(UK)) have agreed to work more closely together on professional development across the logistics, transport and supply chain sectors, writes Peter Brown.

They signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Worthy Down, Winchester. The agreement was signed by Colonel Jax Powell, Corps Colonel of the Royal Logistic Corps, and Helen Hardy, CEO of CILT(UK).

The partnership will pave the way for increased collaboration in supporting professionalisation, accreditation and career transition opportunities for serving personnel and veterans alike.

Helen Hardy explained: “Given the scale and importance of the RLCi and the clear alignment in our strategic purpose, I am delighted to sign this MoU.

“Our ambition is to move beyond informal collaboration and establish something enduring – a partnership that aligns professional standards, strengthens development pathways, and gives our defence logisticians a strong and recognised identity within the wider logistics profession.”

A key objective of the Royal Logistic Corps is to strengthen engagement with industry, academia, chartered institutes and professional bodies to ensure common standards are recognised both during and after military service.
