Richard Skidmore (pictured) has been appointed managing director and CEO of Daimler Truck UK, succeeding Heiko Selzam on 1 August 2026, writes Peter Brown.
An experienced automotive industry executive, Skidmore has held roles spanning marketing, IT, sales, digital services and customer service. Since joining Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK in 2017, he has progressed through a series of leadership positions and currently heads the company’s customer service delivery operations.
“I’m incredibly proud to be taking on the role of managing director and CEO of Daimler Truck UK and would like to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my journey with the business,” he said.
“Since joining Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK in 2017, I’ve had the opportunity to work with fantastic colleagues, Dealer partners and customers across the country. Those relationships have shaped my experience and reinforced what makes this business special – the people behind it.
“As I step into this new role, I’m excited about what we can achieve together. We have a strong team and a clear focus on delivering for our customers. I look forward to building on the great work already underway, supporting our colleagues and partners, and continuing to create a culture where people feel valued, respected and empowered to succeed.
