Aberdeen-based haulier Colin Lawson Transport has improved visibility and safety during vehicle manoeuvring in low-light conditions with Labcraft’s Banksman BM3 harness kit, writes Peter Brown.
The company specialises in general and heavy haulage, energy sector logistics, crane support, and the transport of oversized or hazardous loads. Safe manoeuvring is essential, particularly at night and in confined spaces, the company said.
One of the firm’s drivers said: “Before we had the Banksman Lighting Kit, I was relying purely on the rear work lights, and half the time I felt like I was reversing into darkness.
“You’re trying to judge shadows, guess distances and hope nothing’s sitting in a blind spot.
“Since the new lighting went on, it’s a completely different experience. The whole area behind the truck lights up properly, and I can actually see what I’m working with.
“It takes so much stress out of night manoeuvres and makes me feel far more confident and in control. It’s one of those upgrades you don’t realise you need until you’ve used it.
“Now I wouldn’t want to drive without it.”
