The funeral of Ian Craig, founder of Larbert-based Ian Craig (Haulage) Limited, who passed away aged 86, will take place at Falkirk Crematorium on 31 October 2026, starting at 11.15am.
Ian died on 11 October following a short illness. His family has set up a memorial page where those wishing to pay their respects can also support Strathcarron Hospice in his memory.
In a Facebook post, the family said: “With a very heavy heart, we share the sad news of the passing of our founder, Ian Craig.
“We are deeply saddened by his loss and will remember him with great fondness and gratitude for all he built and the lasting impact he made.”
Ian founded the business in Cumbernauld in 1973, starting out with a single vehicle. The company has since grown to hold an operator’s licence for 80 vehicles and 130 trailers, specialising in brick and block, timber and general haulage.
The family added: “He is remembered as the beloved husband of the late Christine, and father to Kevin, Alan, Ross, Colin and Fiona. He was also a much-loved father-in-law, papa, great-papa, brother and brother-in-law, and will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.”
Those wishing to make a donation in Ian’s memory can do so through the family’s memorial page in support of Strathcarron Hospice.
