Michelin will give its new X Multi T2 trailer tyre its UK show debut at RTX Scotland, showcasing its latest efforts to improve mileage, reduce rolling resistance and lower whole-life costs for haulage operators.
The 385/65 R22.5 tyre will be displayed at Glasgow’s SEC on 18–19 November. Michelin claims it delivers 15% higher mileage and 6% lower rolling resistance than its predecessor.
Designed for regional haulage and mixed transport operations, the X Multi T2 is engineered to withstand heavy loads and the lateral forces generated during manoeuvring.
It achieves a B rating for rolling resistance, C for wet grip and A for external rolling noise under the EU tyre labelling scheme. It also carries Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) and M+S winter markings.
Michelin will also showcase Remix 2, an extension of its multi-life tyre strategy. The system allows eligible tyres to undergo a second retread and up to three regrooving operations, with the potential to deliver total mileage equivalent to 375% of that achieved by a single-life tyre.
Currently being trialled with selected customers, Remix 2 retreading is carried out at Michelin’s specialist facility in Stoke. By extending casing life, the approach aims to reduce replacement frequency and improve tyre cost efficiency.
Andrew French, B2B sales director at Michelin UK & Ireland, said: “We’re excited to be giving the X Multi T2 its UK debut at RTX Scotland. Enhancing our popular X Multi range, it’s another asset that can help hauliers go further for less as part of a well-managed tyre policy.
“The opportunity to showcase our Remix 2 offer, which can significantly boost the longevity of each tyre and reduce the total cost of ownership, underlines our commitment to maximising value.”
Michelin will exhibit on stand D60 at the two-day event.
