Daimler Truck UK and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation have appointed FUSO Truck UK Ltd as the new general distributor for FUSO vehicles in Great Britain from 1 October 2026, reports Peter Brown.
FUSO Truck UK (FTUK) will be responsible for sales and customer services for the Japanese truck brand. The company will be led by chairman and owner Sid Sadique OBE and managing director David Hamer and will operate from its headquarters at the Wentworth Park complex in Barnsley.
FTUK will work with a newly appointed dealer network, with details to be announced later alongside its wider UK market strategy. It also plans to establish a key accounts team at its Barnsley headquarters to support fleet operators, with further senior management appointments to follow.
The move follows a period of collaboration between Daimler Truck UK and FTUK to prepare for the transfer of responsibility.
Richard Skidmore, managing director of Daimler Truck UK, said: “Throughout the transition process, both organisations have worked closely together to establish a strong operational framework that supports customers, dealers and business partners.
“We are confident that FUSO Truck UK is well positioned to build on the brand’s established presence in the market and deliver continued growth in the years ahead.”
Sid Sadique said the new business would focus exclusively on the FUSO range and be supported by a service-focused dealer network.
“I am pleased and honoured to announce the creation of the FUSO Truck UK business,” he said.
