A fire has destroyed an office block in Kilmarnock where vehicle movement company EVT Scotland is based, but boss Gavin Wallace says it is “business as usual” despite the disruption caused by the blaze.
Firefighters were called to Bowie House at Rowallan Business Park at 6am yesterday (3 September) and used two high-reach appliances to tackle the blaze and prevent it spreading to neighbouring businesses.

“Thankfully, we’re a resilient business and, with our servers hosted in the cloud, there has been minimal disruption to our day-to-day operations. It’s very much business as usual for us, despite the circumstances.
“I’d also like to thank the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service for its prompt response to the fire. Their efforts were greatly appreciated.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Emergency services were called to a fire at premises within Rowallan Business Park around 7.15am.
“There are no reported injuries.”
At the height of the blaze there were nine appliances on site and an incident command unit. A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.09am to reports of a building fire within Rowallan Business Park on Southcraig Avenue in Kilmarnock.
“Operations Control mobilised six fire appliances, two high-reach appliances and specialist resources to the scene.”
