Malcolm Logistics has taken delivery of two high-specification MAN TGX LionS tractor units as part of a wider fleet order, writes Peter Brown.

The MAN Individual LionS 6×2 tractors, registered as L007 WHM and M19 WHM, feature GX cabs finished in Nardo Grey.

Both have been given bespoke Malcolm Logistics liveries, designed in-house and applied by Ast Signs and Graphics of Penrith.

Malcolm Group managing director Andrew Malcolm said: “When we ordered these MAN TGX tractors, we knew we wanted to make them special and different, so we naturally thought of a bespoke livery and some nice custom additions.

“MAN trucks have formed the backbone of our fleet for some years, we find them efficient and trustworthy, and the high level of wrap-around care we receive is second to none. Furthermore, the drivers like the high levels of comfort, fit and finish.

“Both drivers, Mykee and Ian, enjoy the truck show scene and regularly attend truckfests on behalf of the company, winning prizes for their attention to detail, preparation and general vehicle care, so we know the vehicles are in good hands.”

Power comes from MAN’s six-cylinder, 12.4-litre D26 engine, producing 520hp and 2,400Nm of torque, coupled to a 12-speed TipMatic automated transmission.

“As well as looking good and attracting attention for the right reasons, we need to ensure our fleet is efficient and from past experience with MAN we know the TGX delivers impressive TCO returns,” he added.

Both trucks will operate from Malcolm Logistics’ Grangemouth facility, covering around 150,000km a year while delivering customer goods throughout the UK.
