Michelin’s latest-generation construction tyres are now available as original equipment fitments on selected vehicles in the MAN Truck & Bus UK range, writes Peter Brown.
The Michelin X Works Z2 and D2 range, available for steer and drive axles, is designed for short on- and off-road journeys in regional and urban areas. The tyres are available on MAN TGS trucks and tippers.

“It’s great to see MAN Truck & Bus now offering these tyres to construction customers who want to build additional fuel savings, combined with exceptional tyre performance and longevity, into the specification of their new vehicles.”
Michelin said the new X Works Z2 and D2 tyres offer up to 10% longer lifespan on the steering axle and up to 25% on the drive axle compared with the previous generation.
The tyres are retreadable and feature reinforced sidewalls. They can also be fitted to electric vehicles and have a load index of 158/150, representing a 500kg increase over the previous model when fitted as single tyres.
