Bear Scotland, the country’s major road management and maintenance company, is calling on Scots to name a truck.
Its fleet of more than 115 winter vehicles helps keep roads across Scotland moving throughout winter.
Bear Scotland works around the clock to treat roads ahead of frost and ice to help clear snow.
And it is looking for witty, creative winter-themed names for its gritter fleet operating across the South East and North West of Scotland.
Winning names from previous competitions include Snow Scotland Snow Party, I’ve Grit A Crush On You, Basil Salty, Gritty Gritty Bang Bang and Brine Freeeeze.
Bear Scotland said: “Whether it’s a clever pun, a snowy joke or a road-inspired name, we’d love to hear your ideas!”
The winning names will be displayed on gritters based at BEAR Scotland depots, wherever possible close to the winner’s location.
Entry is free and will be open until 11.59pm on September 11.
