German family-owned logistics company Dachser is buying its Scottish partner Drummond Distribution for an undisclosed sum, writes Peter Brown.
Last year, the Armadale, West Lothian business generated £20m in revenue and employed around 175 people across five locations in Scotland’s densely populated Central Belt, between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Now in its 99th year, the family-owned company has been a Dachser partner since 2008, connecting Scottish customers to Dachser’s European Logistics network.
The acquisition includes approximately 46,500 square metres of warehouse space, along with a fleet of around 100 trucks and 80 trailers.
Business continuity will be maintained under the existing management team, led by Drummond Distribution’s director Damon Burns. As the current owners gradually transition out of the business, the management team will report to Mark Rollinson, MD of Dachser UK & Ireland.

Dachser is based in Kempten, Germany, and offers transportation, logistics, warehousing and customised services.
With approximately 37,500 employees at 427 locations worldwide, Dachser generated consolidated revenue of approximately €8.3bn in 2025.
Dachser is represented by its own national subsidiaries in 42 countries.
