New fleet management and compliance software has helped agricultural, and haulage family-run business WJ & J Green improve fleet compliance, maintenance oversight and operational visibility, reports Peter Brown.

The fleet management and compliance software from AssetGo now supports the company’s 38-strong fleet, which operates from Corskie Farm, east of Inverness. The business runs a large mixed arable and livestock enterprise alongside a substantial haulage operation, and has 45 drivers on its books.

WJ & J Green operates articulated bulk tippers across the UK, as well as five 8-wheelers working out of local quarries.

Transport manager Graham Archibald said: “I had experienced AssetGo at my previous employment and found it was the right platform we needed to manage our maintenance and daily walkaround checks.

“The business used to rely on paper-based defect reporting, which meant you were unaware of any issues until drivers returned at the weekend to hand in their paperwork.

“Having live reporting allows us to monitor driver compliance while receiving real-time feedback on current maintenance issues.

“Plus, being able to attach pictures gives the office a better understanding of what has failed, enabling better decision-making on rectification.

“We are still relatively new to the platform as a company, but I feel we have improved immensely in our data recording and in chasing up information from maintenance providers.”

By replacing paper-based processes with real-time digital reporting, WJ & J Green says it is gaining greater visibility of fleet operations while strengthening compliance and maintenance management across its vehicle fleet.
