The RHA’s National Lorry Week, which highlights the importance of the haulage sector and reinforces the message that road transport connects everything, will take place from Wednesday 24 June to Tuesday 30 June, writes Peter Brown.
This year’s event will run under the theme: “The Road That Connects Everything.”
National Lorry Week will showcase the vital role road transport plays in supporting the economy, supply chains and everyday life across the UK.
Throughout the week, the RHA and its supporters will share stories from across the industry, featuring operators, drivers, apprentices, depots and logistics businesses. Members and stakeholders will also be encouraged to get involved through social media, events and industry activities.
This year, National Lorry Week will align with UK Logistics Week, culminating in activity at RTX and Multimodal from 30 June to 2 July
RHA managing director Richard Smith said: “National Lorry Week is about recognising the people and companies behind an industry that keeps the country moving every single day. They are driving business on our roads.
“Road transport connects communities, supports businesses and underpins supply chains across the UK. Almost everything we buy, use or rely on has spent time on a lorry.
“This year’s campaign gives us a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the sector while also bringing the industry together through UK Logistics Week, RTX and Multimodal.”
RTX show director Vic Bunby said: “RTX is proud to support activity around National Lorry Week in the run-up to UK Logistics Week. It’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the people and businesses that keep the industry moving while bringing the sector together at one of the most important moments in the transport calendar.”
Multimodal event director Robert Jervis said: “Multimodal is delighted to be part of this year’s wider industry activity. National Lorry Week and UK Logistics Week together provide a strong platform to highlight the importance of logistics, supply chains and road transport across the UK economy.”
