Fuel payment company WEX has launched the Esso Card Truck in the UK targeting the HGV fleet sector, writes Peter Brown.
With access to more than 1,400 Esso forecourts nationwide, the launch follows a significant expansion of the Esso network, with more than 170 sites added during 2025.
The Esso Card Truck can be used across the full Esso network, including HGV-focused sites equipped with dedicated truck lanes.
Kate Reichenbach, managing director for Europe Mobility at WEX, said: “Fleet operators want a solution they can rely on – wide availability, predictable pricing, and tools that make managing vehicles easier.”
According to WEX, the card offers fixed weekly fuel pricing across the Esso network without additional surcharges, alongside PIN-protected transactions and HMRC-compliant invoicing.
The company added that digital reporting and automated expense-tracking features are intended to simplify fuel management and improve visibility of fleet operating costs.
