With just one week remaining before entries close, transport professionals across the industry are being urged to put themselves forward for one of the sector’s most respected accolades, writes Peter Brown.
Logistics UK’s Transport Manager of the Year competition shines a spotlight on the expertise, leadership and operational excellence that keep fleets running safely and efficiently — and organisers say time is running out for this year’s contenders to make their mark.
The deadline is 20 May at 5pm, enter here.
The competition will take place over multiple stages and will include statutory requirement testing, as well as a case study submission and online interview.
Finalists will be announced at Logistics UK’s Transport Manager conference in Birmingham on 3 December and the ultimate winner will be revealed at the Logistics Awards on 10 December in London, giving entrants an exclusive chance to celebrate their achievements in front of hundreds of key industry figures.
Chief executive Ben Fletcher said: “Logistics UK’s Transport Manager of the Year competition shines a spotlight on the outstanding professionals and celebrates their expertise and dedication, offering well-earned recognition from peers and industry leaders as they compete with the very best in their field.
“Their contribution is vital to the success of our sector, and I look forward to meeting this year’s winner at the Logistics Awards in December.”
Last year’s winner was Lee Thompson-Halls, Fleet Transport Manager at Brocklesby Ltd. At the time of being presented with his award at last year’s Logistics Awards in London, Lee said: “I’m speechless to be honest, overwhelmed and very humbled. I’m in great company with the finalists tonight – great people, very experienced and so I feel very special tonight.”
Prizes include a £1,200 holiday voucher for the winner and all finalists will receive a free pair of tickets to the Logistics Awards.
