Brewdog administration leaves hauliers owed money

Hauliers are among businesses facing mounting losses after the collapse of Scottish multinational brewery and pub chain BrewDog, which entered administration in March owing more than £500 million, writes Carol Millett.

In all, almost 500 firms are owed money by Brewdog, according to administrators Alixpartners.

The hauliers affected include Aberdeenshire haulier ARR Craib, who are owed just under £1.6m, DSV Road is £61,190 out of pocket, while Dutch multi-modal logistics company Samskip is owed £53,626.

After establishing that Brewdog was ‘not sufficiently cash generative’ to be restructured or to continue as a CVA, the administrators engineered a pre-pack sale which saw Brewdog sold to US drinks firm Tilray in a £33m deal.

The sale saw 376 employees transferred to the new owners and another 444 staff made redundant.

ARR Craib declined to comment when contacted by MT.
