DAF Trucks has introduced the ‘XG+ Emerald Edition’, a strictly limited derivative of its New Generation XG+ flagship tractor, with production restricted to 100 individually numbered units, writes Peter Brown.
The Emerald Edition represents the second release in DAF’s gemstone-inspired series, following the ‘Sapphire Edition’ launched in 2025.
This commemorative programme forms part of the brand’s build-up to its centenary in 2028, with each edition defined by a distinctive factory specification rather than alterations to the core mechanical platform.
The exterior specification sets the Emerald Edition apart with a Forest Dawn green finish, complemented by a high-gloss black grille surround and logo bar, black disc wheels and a black chassis. Standard fitment includes the DAF Digital Vision System in place of conventional mirrors, DAF Corner View technology and low rolling-resistance tyres.
The XG+ cab is specified to a premium standard, featuring leather upholstery, upgraded fabrics and piano black interior trim. Sleeper comfort is enhanced with an Emerald-pattern mattress, coordinated topper and curtain set, while a microwave is integrated into the header shelf. The Climate Pack, DAF Infotainment System and Night Lock security system are included as standard equipment.
Power is delivered by the PACCAR MX-13 diesel engine producing 480hp (355kW), mated to the standard New Generation XG+ driveline. The Emerald Edition retains the standard mechanical configuration of the XG+ at this power rating, with no changes to the underlying drivetrain or chassis specification.
A comprehensive advanced driver assistance package is fitted as standard, incorporating Adaptive Cruise Control, Predictive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning and Driver Alert Support.
Each XG+ Emerald Edition is supplied with a dedicated accessory set, including a matching duvet cover, a memory foam pillow and a leather toiletry bag, reinforcing the premium positioning of the model.
According to DAF, the Emerald Edition is targeted at operators and drivers seeking a high-specification, factory-defined XG+ package, with availability strictly limited to the 100 numbered vehicles.
