Two-person delivery company AIT Home Delivery has opened a new site in Cumbernauld for final mile deliveries across Scotland, writes Peter Brown.
Consumers receiving deliveries of heavy items like furniture, white goods, and brown goods amongst other household and garden items will now benefit from faster delivery times and an improved next-day service with four-hour delivery windows, the firm explained.
Gary McKelvey, AIT’s vice president, global home delivery, said the benefits of the new warehouse and its operations will be felt directly by end customers across Scotland.
“We’ve provided market-leading service across Scotland for many years, but not without overcoming significant geographical challenges,” he added.
“We’re proud that our ongoing efforts to improve service for Scottish customers are now delivering results.
“Thanks to our refined processes and continued investment, customers in Scotland can expect an enhanced final-mile delivery experience including our value-added services such as assembly and installation, ensuring goods are ready to use.”
Ryan Carter is the executive vice president, Americas, for AIT Worldwide Logistics. “This new facility in Cumbernauld demonstrates AIT’s continued commitment to delivering best-in-class final-mile solutions across the UK,” he said.
“Scotland has always been a vital part of our network, and we’re proud to further strengthen our capabilities in the region. By investing in infrastructure and innovation, we are not only enhancing delivery speed and reliability — we are reinforcing our promise to provide a seamless, customer-centric experience.”
Formerly Panther Logistics, AIT Home Delivery was rebranded in July last year, following its 2020 acquisition by US-based AIT Worldwide Logistics.
The company works in final-mile delivery, offering services such as delivery to room of choice, packaging removal, assembly and installation, disposal, seven-day delivery, and direct customer communication regarding delivery windows.
