THE SUCCESS of a third auction in Livingston before the end of last year, confirmed that Commercial Vehicle Auctions’ (CVA) decision to open up a dedicated site in Livingston was the right one.
With more than 100 lots and a 75% conversion rate, Ross Dalton, managing director and auctioneer, said the decision has been justified. ‘We had lots predominantly from local authorities, however, there were some nice haulier and rental company entries, all of which have come directly as a result of having a Scottish auction facility,’ he said.
However, it is still early days. ‘We don’t know what Scotland’s stock profile is going to be over the course of a 12 month period. In the current sales format; if it continues the way it has started, we will be selling another 1,000 assets per year,’ he explained.
