What started as in-house training for employees has grown wings and become a business in its own right. Concentrating on providing tailormade courses, the philosophy behind Blacks Training Solutions is ‘what do you need?’, writes Kevin Swallow.
ON THE job training has become a major industry in its own right. During 2017, more than 6.9 million employees in the UK, that is one in four, said they had had in-work training or education in the previous three months, according to the Office of National Statistics.
Participation for in-work training varies by occupation, with employees in professional occupations more likely (37.3%) to undertake such training. That is more than double the 16.2% in the process, plant and machine operatives’ sector (which includes lorry drivers) that said they’d received training in the previous three months.
