BULLET EXPRESS has purchased over 180,000sq.ft of land behind their Baillieston storage centre to build a £5m multi-temp storage warehouse.
This purchase has been driven by the ‘phenomenal response’ to the company entering the storage market in Summer 2016. ‘Having moved into their 21,000 pallet site at Baillieston it is now at client capacity with a further 5,000 pallet site on the outskirts of Glasgow also nearing capacity,’ revealed Bullet Express MD David McCutcheon.
This growth and service offering to all the other department clients at Bullet has helped drive turnover up 20% in three years to over £12 million.
‘We are all delighted with the growth of storage in such a short time. The service has enhanced our other divisions and generated great revenue for overnight freight, sameday/special services delivery and our worldwide freight departments. Having the ability to short term store, decant containers and pick pack has brought real interest from many current clients,’ said David.
Bullet expect the project to be completed by the autumn of 2020.
