AFTER 36 years, since the creation of the Truckfest concept, Live Promotions have found a venue in the north east of England which will provide a home for many years to come with a facility at the historic Wolsingham Showground.
The site, is in close proximity to Bishop Auckland and around 23 miles south of Newcastle. ‘Just off the A68 Darlington Road, it has to be a great place to spend a weekend with its breathtaking backdrop of rolling hills,’ suggests Live Promotions boss Bob Limming.
‘Geographically it completes the Truckfest series and really does mean that ‘there’s a Truckfest near you’. Until now it has been the one area in England that has been missing,’ says Bob. ‘Great news for us that our long time media partner Transport News is to be with us for the journey. As well as their continued support of our flagship event in Scotland, Transport News will be alongside at Wolsingham as they have been in Scotland for over 30 years.
‘When we approached the team at Wolsingham the first thing that most of them said that over the years they had been to Truckfest at either Peterborough or Scotland. Which helps when they already have an understanding of the event,’ said Bob.
‘Truckfest North East is sure to have its very own identity while of course involving local hauliers and drivers in the event that is focused on them. Live Promotions are keen to embrace regional features and differences.’
Truckfest North East takes place at the Wolsingham Showground on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June 2019.
