THE ROAD Haulage Association has signed the Armed Forces Covenant which is a promise by the nation ensuring that those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly. Firms which have signed up for the covenant support reservists with time off for military duties, and recruit former soldiers, sailors and air force personnel where possible.
RHA chief executive Richard Burnett says: ‘In my 34 years in the logistics sector, former servicemen and women have proved to be among the very best people I have ever hired.’
