Three new Volvo FH tractor units have joined the fleet of Lochgilphead-based timber haulier Coille Transport, writes Peter Brown.
The trucks were supplied by Asset Alliance Group on a four-year contract hire deal. Two of the new arrivals have already been pressed into service replacing older assets, moving the firm’s heavy loads from Scotland’s West Coast to paper and sawmills across the country.
Bruce Johnston is the workshop manager at Coille Haulage. “It’s the first time we’ve used Asset Alliance Group,” he confirmed, “and they did us a great contract hire deal.”
The FHs come with the 12-speed I-Shift automated transmission, Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels, Kelsa light bars and Michelin’s heavy-duty X Works tyres.
The tag axle trucks are equipped with front and rear air suspension to ensure a uniform load across the axles while moving heavy loads.
