These days only the local authorities visit every home and business across the UK, and it’s done usually every fortnight with the refuse vehicle, writes David Craik.
As well as collecting the recycling, household waste and garbage from businesses, Glasgow city Council is also collecting data measuring the strength of the mobile phone signal from the UK’s four mobile operators – EE, Vodafone, Three and O2/Virgin Media.
David talks to George Gibson, the partnerships director and cofounder at Streetwave who are conducting the project on behalf of Glasgow City Region Smart and Connected Social Places programme.
