TRUCKFEST Scotland 2023 had the lot. Magnificent weather which, apart from a late shower on the Sunday afternoon, was instrumental in enticing a record attendance for the already massively popular two-day event where fleets and individual trucks numbering a record 1,500 came from all over Scotland and the North of England to park up for the weekend and not only be judged for a host of trophies up for grabs, but allowing crews to wind down for a weekend of high octane social activity which stretched to every corner of the Royal Highland Showground at Ingliston, Edinburgh.
This year’s parade of the latest offerings from the truck building industry zeroed in on one truck representing each of the six exhibiting manufacturers, all singularly entering the arena to the descriptive commentary of Alistair Vallance, with Kevin Swallow on the grass ready to have a short Q&A with the respective in-cab representatives from DAF, Iveco, Renault, Volvo, Scania and MAN.
Truck displays covered every last square foot of Ingliston, making the judges’ job the most difficult ever as they debated the best quality of vehicle presentation in the various categories, a quality which, ventured Truckfest organiser in chief Bob Limming, was ‘probably the best of all the Truckfests in Britain’.
