Scotland’s traffic commissioner turned down an application for an operator licence by a scrap car haulage firm after finding that the sole director posed a risk to the public, Chris Tindall reports.
THE TRAFFIC commissioner for Scotland has refused an application by a Fife operator to run 10 lorries after he received a conviction for threatening or abusive behaviour.
TC Claire Gilmore said that given the section 38 conviction, there was ‘clearly an absence of exemplary behaviour’ by Lindsay Craft, the sole director of ScrapaCarScotland.com.
Mr Craft previously held an operator licence as a sole trader for the business Scrap a Car Scotland, but this was revoked, and he was disqualified in 2018 when it came to light he was operating up to nine HGVs unlawfully.
