DFDS said its acquisition of Highlands haulier DR Macleod would help it build on its strengths in Scotland and expand its business, writes Chris Tindall.
The company commented after it was announced last week that an agreement had been reached to transfer the general haulage, refrigerated and specialist transport firm over to its control.
DFDS confirmed that the transfer agreement had triggered a TUPE consultation and that following this process, DR Macleod staff would transfer over.
In a statement, DFDS said: “Following the integration, it is believed DFDS can leverage existing strengths across Scotland and the Islands and create a platform to continue to grow further and offer increased value to customers.
“This is seen this as very positive news for all and DFDS look forward to welcoming the DR Macleod colleagues in to the family in due course.”
