Iveco has launched a new connected security service aimed at helping operators recover stolen vehicles more quickly and minimise disruption to fleet operations, writes Peter Brown.

The Stolen Vehicle Assistance service is integrated into IVECO ON connected services platform and uses artificial intelligence and geofencing technology to detect suspected theft and trigger recovery procedures.

Developed in partnership with telematics specialist Targa Telematics, the system combines factory-fitted vehicle connectivity with a 24/7 security monitoring centre that works with law enforcement authorities to track and recover stolen vehicles.

Alberto Buttiglieri, Iveco’s product manager for safety and security services, said the system was designed to help operators respond quickly when theft occurs.

“With Stolen Vehicle Assistance, we help customers react quickly when a theft occurs and recover their vehicle as fast as possible,” he said. “By combining factory-fitted connectivity, AI-driven detection and a 24/7 Security Center, we turn alerts into coordinated recovery actions that keep vehicles available and businesses running.”
