Every trucker loves a boogie, and the second Girl Torque Ball took place at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow at the end of 2025, with plenty of truckers getting down on the dance floor (contemporary terms include vibing, emoting, old school and/or full-out).
The first ball welcomed 480 guests and raised £30,000. This time, attendance increased and even more money was raised at the glittering event, which was sponsored by 15 companies. A total of 550 guests helped raise £50,000 for four key charities for 2026:
• British Heart Foundation Scotland
• the Armed Forces charity SSAFA
• Disabled children’s charity King Tutsham
• Parkinson’s UK
That is some achievement. Girl Torque founder Karen Sutherland said: “The second Girl Torque Ball was a fantastic event with so much money raised, I want to thank everyone for coming along and helping raise so much money for good causes.
“The third Girl Torque Ball will move to a bigger venue, the DoubleTree Hotel in Glasgow, and we hope to see you there!”
Snapper Steve McCann was there to catch the action.
