DAF introduce XG and XG+ Electric to its line up

DAF has expanded its zero-emission range with the new XG and XG+ Electric, its first large flagship cabs to go fully electric, writes Peter Brown.

Based on the same architecture as the XD and XF Electric, the models target longer-distance and international use, prioritising space and driver comfort.

Powered by PACCAR’s EX-D2 powertrain (270–350kW / 370–480hp and 2,400Nm), the system uses twin motors and a 3-speed integrated transmission for smooth, efficient performance.

Modular battery packs (three to five units) offer over 500km per charge, with planned charging enabling more than 1,000km per day.

Both models come as 4×2 tractors or 6×2 rigids, supported by PACCAR charging, service and finance solutions.
