Isle of Lewis operator AMK Plant & Tipper Hire has boosted its fleet with its first brand-new truck, a DAF XD450 8×4 tipper, writes Peter Brown.
AMK operates a large and diverse fleet supporting construction and infrastructure projects across the Scotland, and has traditionally sought second hand vehicles.
The deal was cut within three weeks with MV Commercial. Managing director Alec MacKenzie said: “We already run a sizeable fleet, mainly Scanias and DAFs, but this is the first time we’ve invested in a brand-new truck.
