Out Now: Transport News October 2025

by | Sep 5, 2025 | Hot News

On the front cover of the October 2025 Transport News issue is a vehicle recovery wagon from David Philp Commercials, captured at Truckfest Scotland by Steve McCann.

Editor Kevin Swallow had already been to see their newly expanded depot in Kirknewton, Midlothian, complete with a unique look.

Truckfest Scotland proved an unequivocal success with the sun shining across both days. Organisers reported a record number of trucks and people at Ingliston. We bring you the best of the trucks and the winners.

The Fleet In Focus is William Nicol. The haulier has hit 90, and it was Bob Beech who travelled up to Portlethen to interview transport manager Gordon Horne.

The second part of the Transport News Roundtable concentrates on truckstops and infrastructure; both ranker despite solutions being widely available. Better planning and support to increase the number of truckstops and more investment to ease bottlenecks and pinch points on Scotland’s road network.

In the second feature with M&H Carriers, Fraser Maclean explains how the company has embraced disabled and neurodivergent people to boost the ranks, and Jack Carfrae speaks to employees Josh and Bailey.

Plus, there is much more including the electric MAN line up, HVO, the 4848 project and inheritance tax.

All these stories feature in the latest issue of Transport News.
