With 33 sites, Motus Commercials is the largest DAF dealership in Europe, and it is about to build its fourth new dealership as it relocates from Bellshill to the old steelworks at Ravenscraig, writes Kevin Swallow.
The plan is to be in by the end of the year. Kevin McGinley and Matt Lawrenson explained more about the move and the opportunities that go with it.
“The more we looked into the renovation of Ravenscraig and what they’re doing down there with the road access links, we recognised it was an ideal opportunity for us,” Kevin explained.
For Matt, it was business as usual. “We’ve built a few dealerships on a similar footprint at Frome, Gloucester and Swindon, this one will be the fourth project,” he said.
“We’ve got the footprint for what a DAF Trucks dealership should look like, and it’s built to DAF Group dealer standard. Then it’s a question of how many workshop bays, office space, storage, parking and security measures.”
