Goodbye Aggregate Industries Hello Holcim UK

Building materials supplier Aggregate Industries has been rebranded as Holcim UK, writes Carol Millett.

It takes on its parent company’s name, 20 years after being acquired by the Swiss cement giant.

Aggregate Industries was launched in 1997 from the merger of Bardon Group and Camas, formerly the aggregates business of English China Clays, and was acquired by Holcim in 2005.

The group employs around 4,000 people across over 200 sites in the UK. According to sister title Motor Transport’s Fleet Data it has O-licences for 463 trucks and 97 trailers.

The rebadging strategy sees 18 of the 25 Aggregate Industries brands take on the Holcim UK brand.

Three additional brands will endorsed by Holcim UK and two will operate under their own names, including Bradstone, which will be joined by two further brands.

The move is aimed at aligning the business more closely to its Swiss-based parent company and making the business more sustainable.
