Milence Has Opened Its First UK Electric Truck Charging Hub

Milence, the joint venture between Daimler Truck, Traton Group and Volvo Group, has officially launched its first UK public charging hub in Immingham, writes Peter Brown.

The site marks a ‘significant stride towards decarbonising heavy-duty transport’, and is part of its commitment to build and operate 1,700 high-capacity public charging points in Europe by 2027

Based at Able Humber Port in Immingham, it has four high-performance CCS chargers powering eight bays, with amenities including restrooms and vending machines.

It is on the A180 with direct access to the M180, M18, and M1 motorways.

Anja van Niersen, CEO of Milence, said: “The opening of our first UK charge hub in Immingham marks a significant step in the UK’s transition to electric road transport.

“This strategically located site underscores our commitment to providing reliable and accessible charging infrastructure for the growing number of electric truck operators.
