When Ian Lawson moved to the Inverness area in 1993 the best-known heavy haulage fleet was that of MacRae Heavy Haulage, based on the Longman Industrial Estate.
They ran a smart fleet of Foden and Volvo trucks, when the parent company of MacRae house builders were taken over in the mid-90s the heavy haulage aspect ceased.
