It’s only when you scratch the surface that you realise just how well-connected A&L McCrae is and how far it has travelled in recent years.
From a relatively small fleet working contracts, it has turned into one of Scotland’s key infrastructure partners.
Based at the top of the A83 in Argyll & Bute just past the Rest & Be Thankful, it now runs a revamped fleet with new Volvo FMXs, and a FH16 750, in a new livery.
Calum McCrae spoke to Kevin Swallow about the firm’s role in several major civil and infrastructure projects across Scotland, its quarries and ambitions for the future.
