In the summer, MP Burke Transport moved to new premises in Paisley, which used to belong to one of Scotland’s biggest heavy haulage firms McKelvie Transport.
David Craik spoke with Martin Burke about outgrowing their previous site, and the move to bigger premises.
Martin runs a fleet exclusively made up by Volvo. Even though he’s a one truck man, the price of bringing a new motor onto the fleet means he has to be pragmatic and go for trucks that represent a good deal.
Next year (2025) will be his ninth year in charge of the business, after taking it on from his father Maurice, who had started the haulier in 1988.
