Truck development is ongoing, and DAF is the latest manufacturer to demonstrate its newest updates with a ride and drive in Spain, reports Lucy Radley.
Not content with having already produced a multi award-winning range in the form of DAF’s XG+, XG, XF and XD, the Dutch have already launched what they’re called The Next Chapter at the IAA Transportation show in Hannover last September.
Along with updated safety tech, to meet the requirements of the latest EU General Safety Regulations (GSR2); there are significant changes to the MX-11 and MX-13 engines; a widening of axle options and an upgrade to the standard specification.
This ‘new’ new generation sounds great on paper, but for us the real test is always on the road and DAF treated us to the pleasure of a trip out to the far quieter roads of Spain to drive as many trucks as we could before the flight home.
