Liquid transport specialist Wilson of Kendal has acquired Ballindalloch-based A&F Grant in a bid to strengthen its operation, writes Chris Tindall.
The company informed its customers earlier this month that it had successfully purchased the north east Scotland firm, which is also involved in bulk liquid transport as well as offering timber haulage services.
Confirming the deal had gone through, company directors Richard and Julie Wilson said: “Our mission has always been to become a leading liquid haulage company and so this acquisition makes us stronger as a company.
“The two companies will operate separately, and you will still be managed by our transport office here in Kendal as usual.”
As well as operating 33 HGVs out of its Scottish operating centre, A&F Grant also holds licences in four other traffic areas throughout England.
The haulier was incorporated in 1986, having originally moved to the village of Ballindalloch on the river Spey in 1943. It specialises in the haulage of whisky co-products direct from distilleries on behalf of the animal feed sector.
Neither company commented further on the acquisition.
