Standing On Your Own Two Feet

Molly Watson passed her CPC for Transport Managers (HGV) at just 19, the youngest female in the UK to do so.

Five years on, she talks to Lucy Radley about the business she’s built since, and where she’s taking it.

She also appeared in the pages of Transport News in 2022, when she won Transport News’ Northern Transport Woman of the Year Award.

To really understand what makes her tick, you must go back to what made her sit those exams in the first place; essentially, bloody-mindedness. “I come from a transport background, in that my dad was involved with coaches,” she explained. “He advised me to do my CPC, but then everyone doubted my ability to actually do it.”

Not someone who believes in the word ‘can’t’, she not only took the course but passed first time. “Everybody was very shocked,” Molly recalled. “I was very shocked! But also very proud.”
