Preston-based H Parkinson Haulage entered administration this week, writes Chris Tindall, with FRP Advisory taking control of its affairs.
It has a national licence for 85 HGVs and 160 trailer and operates out of five bases across the Northwest traffic area and one in Wales.
The hauliers most recently posted accounts reported revenues of £16.3m in the year ending 30 June 2023, while it had also returned to the black after making a pre-tax loss of £35,000 in 2022, with a pre-tax profit of £69,000.
In its business review for the period, H Parkinson said that despite industry challenges it had ‘sustained contractual and general work by increasing rates to mitigate rising costs’.
