BRAKE, the road safety charity, has revealed the theme and dates for Road Safety Week, its annual road safety campaign, taking place from 17 to 23 November 2024.
The charity has chosen to put road victims at the heart of this year’s campaign. Every year, more than 1,700 people die on UK roads. Another 30,000 receive serious, life-changing injuries.
Brake will lead on the development of a Road Victim’s Charter, calling on our new government to provide sustainable funding and parity of care for road victims and their families.
Ross Moorlock, Brake’s chief executive, commented: “Behind every road casualty statistic is a family in turmoil. At Brake, we support families whose lives have been changed forever in an instant.”
Brake is a national road safety charity, founded in 1995, campaigning for safe and healthy roads through seeking government policies and investment, and through projects that help communities, schools and employers promote safe and pollution-free streets locally.
