The new Labour administration has appointed Louise Haigh MP as the secretary of state for transport in the new government.
Louise Haigh MP had previously held the shadow transport brief since 2021, and before that was shadow Northern Ireland secretary.
RHA managing director Richard Smith congratulated Louise Haigh MP on her appointment and added: “We look forward to continuing our good working relationship with her team in the months and years ahead to support our vital industry and to help deliver economic growth.”
Logistics UK said the incoming government could begin kickstarting growth in its first 100 days by partnering with the ‘logistics sector to develop Labour’s promised industrial strategy, as logistics can boost productivity for all areas of UK PLC’.
