Logistics firm Gregory Group has pledged to be fully net zero by 2038.
This is the latest development in Gregory Group’s sustainability strategy, which has seen its proactive approach put it at the forefront of the industry on cutting carbon emissions.
Paul Jefferson, group legal, fleet and sustainability director, said: “The transport sector is the highest contributor to UK greenhouse gas emissions, accounting for 26%, with both heavy and light goods vehicles alone contributing to over 10% of the total. We firmly believe that it is our responsibility to lead the way in changing this statistic.
“Many of our customers have set net zero targets for 2040 so, by setting our target two years prior, we will be in a solid position to be able to help our customers deliver on their ambitions.”
Gregory Group is in a joint venture with Hayton Coulthard Transport and owns Pollock and ARR Craib.
