Two flagship trucks bought by Hayton Coulthard Transport to celebrate its centenary have now been officially ‘retired’. Kevin Swallow talks to Duncan Coulthard about creating a legacy.
IN 2016, Dumfries and Galloway based haulier Hayton Coulthard Transport (HCT) celebrated its centenary year.
Gone were the days that the trucks ran from the original Twynholm depot just outside Kirkcudbright. Much of the fleet, then an impressive 125 tractor units and 170 trailers, now operated from the firm’s Ecclefechan depot, just a fence panel from the M74 at junction 19.
From Ecclefechan’s traffic office ran the fleet of moving floor trailers, while from Twynholm’s head office ran the bigger fleet of curtainsided and fridge trailers.
