HGV drivers and warehouse workers at Brake Brothers in Motherwell have secured enhanced pay packages worth over £6,000, according to the Unite union.
It said the pay deal sees increases of between 19.3% and 23.2% on the basic hourly wage, a £300 December bonus and access to an attendance bonus payment of £750, writes Chris Tindall.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Some workers will receive a rise of up to 23.2 per cent. Unite does what it says on the tin, we deliver better jobs, pay and conditions for our members.”
Unite has also agreed to work with Brake Brothers on its development plans which would see an additional £10m invested on a site extension for 2026.
A spokesman for Brakes said: “We’re very pleased that we have been able to reach a mutually agreeable pay settlement. We’re now focussing on a major programme of investment in Scotland.”
