A further 600 HGV drivers will be trained up via the skills bootcamp campaign after the Driver Academy Group (DAG) won an extended contract with the government.
The additional places are available for unemployed individuals or those looking to change careers across England.
The flexible, 16-week courses were first launched in December 2021 in an effort to address the skills black hole in the industry.
With these 600 places, the DAG, a consortium led by training specialist HGVC and also comprising Manpower and Logistics UK, will offer three fully funded courses to novice Category C, C+E and C or C+E plus a specialist licence, such as ADR.
