Alex McLean 67, passed away at home on 3 September.
He was described as a hardworking, honest, selfless man by Nicky Korkanye who said: “I have known Alex since the early 2000’s. In 2011, when the CHG stopped trading, Alex and I decided to set-up a similar business on our own, and CEM was born at Coatbridge.
“Alex always said our success was down to the loyalty of four groups: Our staff; Customers; Loyal suppliers; Last but by no mean least was the support Alex got from his ‘Irish Posse’; Concept Trailers and McCauleys Trailers.
“Alex was very passionate about his work and took a lot of pride in the service he provided to his customers.
“The two main events or outings in Alex’s calendar was the annual Truckfest at Ingliston and the Transport News Awards in Glasgow. He thrived on these occasions.”
Murray Coulthard director at Hayton Coulthard and Gregorys said: “The industry has lost an irreplaceable legend of a gentleman.”
